Tahiti Beach, once located on the southern side of the mouth of the Coral Gables Waterway, has long been since replaced with "Gables by the Sea", an affluent gated community. Before the houses were built, this beach and the road leading to it was an excellent example of how South Florida was in it's natural state. White sand beach with coconut palms and mangroves, the same elements can still be found a few miles south of here at Mathison Hammock Park.
